After having many inquiries on soap classes we have decided to offer a few different classes starting with the easy first. The first class will be a beginner's class with no lye involved. We will be using a soap base then adding "goodies" to the base to make your own signature bar. This will be a hands on class. All materials will be included and you will be taking home 4 bars of soap plus a mold to use on your own soaps. The class will begin at the very basics of deciding which base to use, best ways to melt, working with the base, ideas on additives, molds and preparation for gift giving. We will be going into detail on the benefits and merits of various additives as well as molds. Also many tips will be given on how you do NOT have to break the bank and most likely have plenty of additives and molds already sitting in your home. You can make a very unique, gift-worthy 4oz bar of all natural beautiful healthy soap for around .75 a bar. Cost for materials, booklet and class = $25. Nov 11 or Nov 13 @ 1pm This is a one day, hands on session therefore class size is limited—pre-register to assure a space Lotion Class This class will also be using a base then adding goodies. Information will be given on the various properties to look for, additives to use, how to work with lotions and essential oils, packaging and gift-giving ideas. You will also be taking home a bottle of your own creation. Cost for materials and class = $10. (only $5 if taken with soap class) Nov 11 or Nov 13 @ 3pm This is a one day, hands on session therefore class size is limited- pre-register to assure a space Basic Lye Soap Class - Nov 20th In this class, you will be making soap from scratch. We will go over the various properties of different oils to use, the safety steps to take and a couple of different techniques on creating lye soap. You will need to bring an old blanket to this class but the rest will be provided. You will be making and taking home a whole batch of lye soap. Cost for the class is $50 and you must pre-register as class size is limited. Call for info Additional classes coming up– advanced lye soap, goat milk lye soap advanced melt & pour, bath salts & fizzies & candle making. I have been asked about doing special classes for various groups. As long as you have apprx 10 people or more I will gladly discuss dates and times to accommodate your meetings. There have also been inquiries into youth type events - I have had groups of 14 & under without problems as long as some adult supervision is present. Children really enjoy making their own soap to use or give to others as gifts. |
